Having designed and decorated several homes for this globetrotting client over the years, we were commissioned once again, this time to update the look of her Johannesburg home base.

The brief was simple – a clean, uncluttered, contemporary style that did not compromise on luxury, comfort or practicality; as much an intimate private sanctuary as a refined and gracious setting for entertaining family and friends. 

Plush durable fabrics, leather, marble, stone, wood and gold-leafed metal add texture and depth to a contemporary monochromatic palette, augmented with accents of black and gold.

Featuring glamorous light fittings, and opulent oversized furniture pieces and statement mirrors, the scheme certainly provides no shortage of drama. Deep-pile hand tufted blended wool and silk rugs custom-made for each individual space, including the double volume entry staircase; add another indulgent layer of comfort and warmth. 

Rounded off with tastefully curated objets d’art, lamps and beautifully styled tablescapes, the project is a true triumph of elegant contemporary living.
